180 Alliance READI Plan
The 180 Alliance represents the next ring of growth and development in the greater Indianapolis region. Consisting of Boone, Hendricks, Johnson, Montgomery, Morgan, and Putnam Counties, this new region came together around the shared vision of protecting community identity in the face of growth. HWC led the development of the regional plan for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI). As a result of the planning, the region was awarded $20 million for a range of supporting projects.

Accelerate Rural Indiana
Accelerate Rural Indiana READI Plan
HWC led the development of a regional plan for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) for this new region. Consisting of Decatur, Rush and Shelby Counties and the City of Batesville, the region focused on shared opportunities along the Interstate 74 corridor. As a result of this effort, the Accelerate Rural Indiana Region was awarded $20 million for a range of projects throughout the three-county region.

Johnson County, IN
Johnson County Interstate 69 Corridor Plan
With INDOT’s final determination for the Interstate 69 route serving as the catalyst, HWC was retained by Johnson County to create a corridor plan to guide planning in areas of the county impacted by the new interstate. The plan’s analysis considered how three Interstate 69 interchanges would potentially create ripple effects throughout the county’s thoroughfare network. The plan recommended changes to the thoroughfare plan classifications, new transportation routes in developing areas, as well as land use and infrastructure recommendations to support potential economic development resulting from Interstate 69.

Angola, IN
I-69 Interchange Economic Development Plan
HWC worked with the City of Angola to develop an economic development strategy for the 1,260 acres surrounding the Interstate 69/US 20 interchange. The plan identified key issues facing the Angola community, a vision for development around the interchange, and strategies to implement the plan. This ultimately resulted in the city partnering with a private entity to install $4 million in infrastructure along with new commercial development.

Rushville, IN
Rushville Stellar Communities
Following the completion of their Rushville Comprehensive Plan, the city turned to HWC to craft their Stellar Communities Strategic Investment Plan. HWC led the planning and management process to identify community projects and associated cost estimates, as well as project schedules. This planning effort resulted in the implementation of a wide range of quality-of-life investments totaling nearly $18.0 million. Projects included Flatrock Run Trail, downtown streetscape enhancements, homeowner repair program, and improvements to the Riverside and Overlook Parks. Overall, $117 million has been invested in the community as a result of the Stellar program.
